Fitness Department classes are association classes and are open to all residents with no additional charge.
 
Additional club classes are available.  Please contact individual clubs for class schedules.  The most recent contacts can be found in the Chartered Club section in the Link Magazine.
 
Fitness related clubs include: Aquacize Club, Dance Connection Club, Be Fit Club, Swim Club, Tai Chi Club, Waterobics Club, Yoga Club, Zoom Zoom (Zumba) Club.

GROUP FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Active Stretch: A 30-minute deep stretch with standing, seated, and lying stretches for all your major muscle groups. Active stretching is good for stretching a joint through its current range of motion under the power of one’s own muscles.
 
Chair Yoga: Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement.
 
Foam Roller Class: Foam rolling improves circulation to muscles and may help reduce muscle soreness and pain.  Learn how to use a foam roller to refine your foam rolling routine.  Bring your own foam roller.
 
Sun City Strength: A strength training class that uses free weights, tubing, gliders, and body bars to increase muscle mass and range of motion.
 
Intermediate Sun City Strength: A strength training class that uses free weights, tubing, gliders, and body bars to increase muscle mass and range of motion. Must have prior experience with strength training fitness classes.
 
Sit & Be Fit: Easy on the joints, this class is gentle yet effective. Priority is given to participants of limited physical abilities and to those who require a chair for majority of their activities.
 
Due to COVID-19, social distancing impacts the capacity of these classes.  First come, first served.  Please do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes per class.
 
Please check with your physician before starting an exercise program. Participants must wear appropriate workout clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes. Please bring water and a towel to class for your health, safety and comfort.
